        ● No offensive, violent, or inappropriate images
        ● Your profile photo helps buyers and sellers feel confident they are dealing with a real person

Saving Favorite Listings

Click the heart icon (♡) on any listing to save it to your Favorites list. Access all saved listings under My Account > Favorites. Favoriting a listing also notifies you if the price drops.

Setting Up Listing Alerts

Step-by-Step: Create a Listing Alert
          1. Perform a search using your desired keywords and filters
          2. Click “Save Search” or “Create Alert” at the top of the results page
          3. Choose your notification frequency: Instant, Daily, or Weekly
          4. Receive email or push notifications whenever a new matching listing is posted

2.2 Contacting a Seller

All communication with sellers must take place through the OneJamat.net in-platform messaging system. This protects both parties and provides a documented record of the transaction.

Step-by-Step: Sending a Message to a Seller
          1. Open the listing you are interested in
          2. Click the “Message Seller” button
          3. Type your message in the text field — be specific about the item you are enquiring about
          4. Click “Send”
          5. Await the seller’s response in your Inbox

What to Share — and What NOT to Share — in Messages

Negotiating Price — Tips & Etiquette

       ● Be polite and respectful — remember there is a real person on the other end
       ● Make a reasonable first offer — excessively low offers may be ignored
       ● Explain your offer if helpful: “I noticed similar items are listed for X — would you consider Y?”
       ● If a seller says the price is firm, respect their decision
       ● Once a price is agreed, honor your commitment — backing out repeatedly harms community trust

2.3 Completing a Purchase

Before You Buy

       ● Read the listing description thoroughly, including item condition and any noted defects
       ● Review the seller’s profile, ratings, and reviews
       ● Ask the seller any clarifying questions before agreeing to purchase
       ● Confirm the final agreed price in writing via the messaging system

Meeting Safely for In-Person Transactions

For local, in-person exchanges, always follow the safety guidelines outlined in Section 5 of this guide. Never meet at a private residence for a first transaction with a stranger.

Online Payment Methods Accepted

Payment Method Status Notes
Platform-integrated payment (where available) ✓ Recommended Most secure; dispute protection applies
Cash (in-person only) ✓ Accepted Count carefully before handing over; meet in public
Bank transfer (to verified sellers only) ⚠ Use with caution Only after verifying seller identity and item
Wire transfer, money orders, gift cards ✗ Prohibited Untraceable — common scam vector; never use
Cryptocurrency ✗ Not recommended No recourse if scammed; avoid with strangers

After Receiving an Item

       ● Inspect the item immediately upon receipt and confirm it matches the listing description
       ● If there is a discrepancy, contact the seller via the platform messaging system first
       ● If the issue is not resolved, open a dispute via Account > Disputes
       ● Leave a fair and honest review to help other community members

2.4 Leaving a Review

Reviews are the foundation of trust on OneJamat.net. Your honest feedback helps the community make informed decisions.

Step-by-Step: Leaving a Review
          1. Go to My Account > Purchase History
          2. Find the relevant transaction and click “Leave a Review”
          3. Select a star rating from 1 to 5
          4. Write your review — be specific about the item condition, communication quality, and overall experience
          5. Click “Submit Review”

Honest and Respectful Feedback Guidelines

       ● Focus on the transaction experience, not personal characteristics of the seller
       ● Be accurate and specific — vague reviews are less helpful to the community
       ● Do not leave retaliatory or false reviews
       ● Reviews must be based on actual transactions conducted through OneJamat.net

Reporting Review Abuse

If you believe a review left for you is false, defamatory, or violates our guidelines, you can flag it by clicking “Report Review” beneath the review text. Our moderation team will investigate and take appropriate action.

Section 3: Selling on OneJamat.net

3.1 Posting a Listing

Step-by-Step: Creating a New Listing
          1. Log in to your OneJamat.net account
          2. Click the “Post Listing” button in the top navigation bar
          3. Select the most appropriate category for your item
          4. Enter a descriptive title (see tips below)
          5. Write a thorough description (see tips below)
          6. Set your asking price
          7. Upload up to 10 photos (see photo guidelines below)
          8. Select your item condition: New, Like New, Good, Fair, or For Parts
          9. Set your location (general area, not exact address)
          10. Choose delivery method: Local Pickup, Shipping, or Both
          11. Review your listing and click “Publish”

Writing Effective Titles

       ● Include brand name, model, and condition — e.g., “Samsung Galaxy S22 — Excellent Condition — 128GB Black”
       ● Be specific and descriptive; avoid vague titles like “Phone for Sale”
       ● Keep it under 80 characters for best display across devices
       ● Do not use ALL CAPS or excessive punctuation (!!!, ???)
       ● Include key search terms buyers would use to find your item

Writing Compelling Descriptions

Your description gives buyers the information they need to make a confident purchasing decision. Include:
       ● Item condition — be honest; disclose any scratches, dents, or defects
       ● Dimensions and weight — especially for furniture, appliances, and electronics
       ● Age and usage history — how long have you owned it? How frequently was it used?
       ● Reason for selling — builds trust with buyers
       ● Included accessories — chargers, manuals, original box, etc.
       ● Original purchase price and purchase date (if known)
       ● Any repairs or modifications made to the item

⚠ WARNING: Accurate Descriptions Required
Misrepresenting an item’s condition, features, or authenticity is a violation of OneJamat.net’s Community Rules and may result in listing removal, account suspension, and dispute liability. Always describe items accurately and honestly.

Photo Guidelines

       ● Upload a minimum of 3 photos, up to a maximum of 10 photos per listing
       ● Use good, natural lighting — avoid dark or blurry photos
       ● Photograph from multiple angles: front, back, sides, and close-ups of any defects
       ● Use a clean, uncluttered background to make the item stand out
       ● Do not add watermarks, text overlays, or logos to photos
       ● Only use photos you have taken yourself — do not use stock images
       ● Accepted formats: JPG, PNG | Maximum file size: 10MB per photo

Pricing Tips

       ● Search for similar listings on OneJamat.net to understand the market rate
       ● Factor in the item’s age, condition, and original retail price
       ● A slightly negotiable price can attract more enquiries
       ● Avoid drastically overpricing — listings with no activity expire and reduce your seller rating
       ● If selling quickly is your goal, price 5–15% below comparable listings

3.2 Managing Your Listings

       ● Editing a Listing — Go to My Listings > Edit to update any details at any time. Edits are reviewed and republished within minutes.
       ● Renewing a Listing — Listings that are about to expire can be renewed with one click to reset the listing timer and boost search visibility.
       ● Deleting a Listing — Go to My Listings > Delete. Deleted listings are permanently removed and cannot be recovered.
       ● Marking as Sold — Once your item sells, immediately mark it as “Sold” under My Listings. This is courteous to other interested buyers and keeps your listing history accurate.
       ● Boosting a Listing — Paid boost options (where available) place your listing at the top of relevant search results for a set period. See the Promotions page for current pricing.
       ● Listing Expiration Policy — Listings automatically expire after 60 days of inactivity. You will receive an email reminder before expiration. Expired listings can be renewed for free.

3.3 Communicating with Buyers

       ● Respond promptly — Aim to reply to buyer messages within 24 hours. Fast response times improve your seller rating.
       ● Be professional and clear — Use complete sentences and friendly language. Avoid slang or abbreviations that may cause confusion.
       ● Keep all communication within the platform — Do not share your personal WhatsApp, phone number, or email address in messages. This protects you and the buyer.
       ● Avoid pressure tactics — Do not use urgency language like “last chance” or “buy now or lose it” — these erode buyer trust.

Handling Low-Ball Offers Gracefully

       ● Politely decline or counter-offer: “Thank you for your interest — my lowest price is X. Happy to discuss if you are still interested.”
       ● Do not respond with frustration or rudeness — it reflects poorly in reviews
       ● You are never obligated to accept any offer below your stated price

3.4 Completing a Sale

       ● Confirm item details — Before meeting, confirm the agreed item, price, condition, and pickup location in writing via the messaging system
       ● Safe handoff procedures — Hand over the item only after payment is confirmed in full. Do not hand over items for “inspection” before payment.
       ● Accepting payment safely — Preferred: cash (counted in person) or platform-integrated payment. Prohibited: wire transfers, money orders, cryptocurrency, gift cards.
       ● Issuing a receipt — For high-value items, provide the buyer with a simple written acknowledgment noting the item sold, agreed price, date, and your name. This protects both parties.

⚠ WARNING: Never Hand Over Items Without Full Payment
Do not allow buyers to take an item home “on approval” or promise to pay later. Always receive full payment before releasing the item, and confirm any digital payment has cleared before the handoff.

Section 4: Messaging & Communication

4.1 Using the Inbox

       ● Access your inbox at any time by clicking the envelope icon in the top navigation bar
       ● Conversations are organized as threads per listing — each listing conversation is separate
       ● You will receive email and/or push notifications when you receive a new message (configure under Account Settings > Notifications)
       ● Messages are stored for 12 months and can be searched or archived
       ● Unread message counts appear as a badge on the inbox icon

Message Notification Settings

Go to Account Settings > Notifications to customize how and when you receive alerts. Options include email, SMS, and in-app push notifications. You can adjust these settings at any time.

4.2 Communication Rules

All communication on OneJamat.net must adhere to the following rules:

       ● Be respectful, clear, and professional in every message
       ● Never share personal financial information such as bank account numbers, card details, or PIN codes
       ● Do not move conversations off-platform — switching to WhatsApp, Telegram, or personal email exposes you to scams and removes your protection under our dispute process
       ● Harassment, threats, hate speech, and discriminatory language are strictly prohibited and will result in immediate account action
       ● Do not send unsolicited promotional messages or spam to other users
       ● Do not attempt to solicit personal information from other users under false pretenses

IMPORTANT: Stay On-Platform
A common scam tactic is to ask you to “continue the conversation” via an external channel. Once off the platform, OneJamat.net cannot protect you, mediate disputes, or review the conversation history.
Always insist on communicating within the OneJamat.net messaging system.

4.3 Reporting Suspicious Messages

Step-by-Step: Reporting a Message
          1. Open the conversation thread containing the suspicious message
          2. Click the three-dot menu (⋮) next to the message
          3. Select “Report Message”
          4. Choose the reason: Scam Attempt, Harassment, Spam, Offensive Content, or Other
          5. Add any additional context and click “Submit Report”

What happens after a report is filed:

       ● Your report is reviewed by the OneJamat.net Trust & Safety team within 24–48 hours
       ● The reported message and user’s activity are investigated
       ● If a violation is confirmed, action is taken — this may include a warning, message removal, or account suspension
       ● You will receive a notification when your report has been reviewed
       ● Your identity is kept confidential throughout the reporting process

Section 5: Safety Guidelines

🔐YOUR SAFETY IS OUR PRIORITY
OneJamat.net is committed to providing a safe marketplace. Please read this entire section carefully before completing any transaction — whether in person or online. Your personal safety always comes before any deal.

5.1 Safe In-Person Meeting Tips

       ● Always meet in a PUBLIC place — never at a private home, yours or theirs
       ● Recommended meeting locations include: coffee shops, shopping mall common areas, grocery store parking lots, bank lobbies, or designated “Safe Exchange Zones” at local police stations
       ● Bring a friend or family member — never meet alone for high-value transactions
       ● Tell someone where you are going — share the meeting location, time, and the other person’s profile details with a trusted contact
       ● Meet during daylight hours whenever possible
       ● Trust your instincts — if anything about the situation feels wrong, cancel the meeting. No item is worth your safety.
       ● For high-value items (electronics, jewelry, vehicles), strongly consider meeting inside a bank lobby or at a police station
       ● Keep your phone charged and accessible throughout the meeting
       ● Do not carry large amounts of cash unnecessarily — count it privately before the meeting

⚠ SAFETY WARNING: No Home Visits
Never invite strangers to your home
to view or collect items, and
never go to a stranger’s home
to buy or sell. This applies even if the other person seems trustworthy online. Use public locations for all first-time transactions.

5.2 Online Transaction Safety

       ● Only use payment methods supported or recommended by OneJamat.net (see Section 2.3)
       ● Never send money via wire transfer, money order, cryptocurrency, or gift cards to strangers — these payments are untraceable and non-refundable
       ● Verify the item exists before paying — ask for additional photos or a short video call if purchasing remotely
       ● For expensive items, consider using an escrow service (where available on the platform) — payment is held securely until delivery is confirmed
       ● Screenshot all conversations, receipts, and payment confirmations and store them safely
       ● Do not pay for an item based solely on verbal or informal promises — get everything in writing via the platform

5.3 Protecting Your Personal Information

       ● Never share your home address, national ID number, passport details, or bank account information with other users
       ● Use the platform’s built-in messaging system — never switch to personal WhatsApp or email for initial contact
       ● Be cautious of overly generous or rushed offers — these are common red flags for scam attempts
       ● Do not share your OneJamat.net account credentials (username, password, OTP codes) with anyone
       ● Be aware of social engineering — scammers may try to build false trust before making unusual requests

5.4 Recognizing Red Flags

Be alert to the following warning signs in any transaction:

Red Flag What It May Indicate
Seller demands upfront payment via gift cards, wire transfer, or crypto Advance fee or payment scam
Buyer offers significantly more than the asking price Overpayment scam (will ask for refund of "excess")
Requests to click external links sent in messages Phishing attempt
"Act now" pressure — offer expires in minutes/hours Urgency tactic to bypass your judgment
Vague messages that don't reference the specific listing Automated scam bot or mass fraud attempt
Seller insists on meeting at a private location Personal safety risk
Item photos appear to be stock images or watermarked Seller may not own the item
No reviews, newly created profile, minimal information Unverified identity; proceed with extra caution

GOLDEN RULE: If It Seems Too Good to Be True, It Probably Is
Scammers succeed by offering irresistible deals. A brand-new iPhone listed for $50 is not a bargain — it is bait. Price-check items against retail values and similar listings. Be especially cautious with deals that seem extraordinarily generous.

Section 6: Cybersecurity Best Practices

6.1 Protecting Your Account

We retain your personal data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide you with our services. Specific retention periods are as follows:

       ● Use a unique, strong password for your OneJamat.net account — never reuse a password from another website or app
       ● Enable Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) immediately after signup (see Section 1.3)
       ● Never share your password or OTP code with anyone — this includes people claiming to be OneJamat.net staff
       ● Log out after every session, especially on shared, borrowed, or public devices
       ● Regularly review your account login activity under Account Settings > Security > Login History. Report any unrecognized sessions immediately.
       ● Update your password at least every 6 months or immediately if you suspect a breach

🔒CRITICAL: OneJamat.net Will NEVER Ask for Your Password
No OneJamat.net staff member, moderator, or support agent will ever ask for your account password, OTP code, or full payment card details. If you receive such a request — whether by message, email, or phone — it is a scam. Report it immediately to support@onejamat.net.

6.2 Phishing & Scam Awareness

Phishing is the practice of sending fraudulent communications — usually emails or messages — that appear to come from a trusted source, designed to trick you into revealing sensitive information such as passwords, payment details, or personal identification.

       ● Do not click links in suspicious emails or SMS messages claiming to be from OneJamat.net
       ● Always verify the URL in your browser’s address bar: it must show https://www.onejamat.net with a valid security padlock icon
       ● Look for grammatical errors, unusual formatting, and urgent language in messages — these are common phishing indicators
       ● Report any suspicious communication to support@onejamat.net immediately
       ● Update your password at least every 6 months or immediately if you suspect a breach

6.3 Device & Network Security

       ● Keep your device’s operating system and all apps updated — security patches protect against known vulnerabilities
       ● Avoid accessing your OneJamat.net account on public Wi-Fi networks (cafes, airports, libraries) without using a reputable VPN (Virtual Private Network)
       ● Use reputable antivirus and anti-malware software on your devices and keep it updated
       ● Do not install any apps, software, or files sent to you by other marketplace users — these may contain malware
       ● Enable device lock screens (PIN, fingerprint, or face recognition) on all devices you use to access OneJamat.net
       ● If you believe your device has been compromised, change your OneJamat.net password immediately from a secure device

8.3 Intellectual Property Rights

       ● Do not list counterfeit, pirated, or IP-infringing products of any kind, including fake branded goods, copied software, or unauthorized reproductions
       ● Do not use brand names deceptively in listing titles to attract searches for products you are not actually selling (e.g., “Nike style shoes” for non-Nike footwear)

          2. Click “Report Listing” on the listing page

Section 9: Fraud Prevention Guidance

9.1 Common Scam Types to Know

Scam Type How It Works Warning Signs
Overpayment Scam Buyer "accidentally" sends more than the asking price and asks you to refund the difference. The original payment later bounces or is reversed. Payment from unknown/unverified source; request for partial refund before funds clear.
Shipping Scam Seller requests payment upfront for shipping or the item itself, then never ships — or ships an empty box/wrong item. Insistence on payment before any verification; reluctance to meet in person.
Fake Escrow Scam Scammer directs you to a fraudulent "escrow" website that appears legitimate but steals your payment details. Third-party escrow service not officially supported by OneJamat.net; unfamiliar URL.
Identity Theft Scam Fraudster poses as a platform or security agent and requests your ID, passport, or other personal documents for "verification." Requests for government ID, bank details, or personal documents via message.
Advance Fee Scam Victim is told they have won a prize, deal, or inheritance but must pay an upfront "fee," "tax," or "processing charge" to receive it. Unsolicited windfalls; requests for upfront payment before delivery.
Phishing Link Scam Scammer sends a link to a fake OneJamat.net login page to steal your credentials. Link URL does not match onejamat.net; urgent language; login prompted unexpectedly.
Urgency / Too-Good-To-Be-True Scam Scammer creates artificial urgency (limited-time offer, last unit) or unrealistically low prices to bypass rational decision-making. Pressure to decide immediately; price far below market value.

9.2 How to Protect Yourself

Buyer's Pre-Payment Checklist

1. ☑ Have you reviewed the seller's profile, ratings, and review history?
2. ☑ Is the asking price realistic compared to similar items?
3. ☑ Have you asked for additional photos or video proof of the item?
4. ☑ Is all communication happening within the OneJamat.net messaging system?
5. ☑ Have you confirmed the agreed price and item details in writing?
6. ☑ Are you using a safe, traceable payment method?
7. ☑ Have you arranged to meet in a public, well-lit location?

Seller's Pre-Handover Checklist

☑ Have you received and verified full payment before handing over the item?
☑ Is the payment from a traceable, legitimate source?
☑ Are you meeting in a public location?
☑ Have you screenshotted the conversation and payment confirmation?

Buyer's Pre-Payment Checklist

       ● Check their profile completion level — incomplete profiles are a risk indicator
       ● Review their star rating and written reviews from previous transactions
       ● Note how long their account has been active — very new accounts (days old) warrant extra caution
       ● Check their verification badges — Phone Verified and ID Verified members are more trustworthy
       ● A high volume of positive reviews across many transactions is a strong trust indicator
