Account & Profile
1. How do I create an account on OneJamat.net?
Visit www.onejamat.net, click “Sign Up” in the top right corner, and complete the registration form with your name, email address, and a secure password. Verify your email address via the confirmation link sent to your inbox, then complete your profile to get started.
2. I didn’t receive my verification email. What should I do?
First, check your spam or junk folder. If it’s not there, log in to your account and click “Resend Verification Email” from the account setup screen. If you still don’t
receive it within 10 minutes, contact support@onejamat.net with your registered email address.
3. Can I have more than one account?
No. OneJamat.net allows one account per person. Operating multiple accounts is a violation of our Terms of Service and may result in all associated accounts being permanently banned. If you need to change your account details, simply update them within your existing account settings.
4. How do I change my username or email address?
Go to Account Settings > Profile to update your display name. To update your email address, go to Account Settings > Security > Change Email. You will need to verify the new email address before the change is applied.
5. What happens if I forget my password?
On the login page, click “Forgot Password?”, enter your registered email address, and you will receive a secure password reset link. The link is valid for 60 minutes. If you don’t receive the email, check your spam folder or contact support.
Buying
6. How do I find items in my area?
Use the Location Radius filter in the search bar to narrow results to listings within a specific distance from your general location. Set your location under Account Settings if you haven’t already, then apply the radius filter when browsing or searching.
7. Is it safe to buy on OneJamat.net?
OneJamat.net takes safety very seriously. We provide member verification, secure in-platform messaging, dispute resolution, and comprehensive fraud prevention resources. However, buyers should always follow our safety guidelines (Section 5), use safe payment methods, and trust their instincts. When in doubt, don’t proceed with a transaction.
8. What payment methods can I use?
For in-person transactions, cash is widely accepted. Where available, use the platform-integrated payment system for the most protection. Bank transfers may be used with verified, trusted sellers. Never use gift cards, wire transfers,
cryptocurrency, or money orders — these are untraceable and commonly used in scams.
9. What should I do if an item I received is not as described?
Contact the seller immediately via the platform messaging system and describe the discrepancy with photos as evidence. If the seller is unresponsive or unwilling to resolve the issue, go to My Account > Transaction History and click “Open Dispute”. Our team will review the case and mediate a resolution.
10. Can I return an item after purchase?
OneJamat.net is a peer-to-peer marketplace and does not enforce a universal return policy. Return terms are at the discretion of individual sellers. Always clarify the seller’s return policy before purchasing. If an item was misrepresented, you may open a dispute for platform review.
Selling
11. How do I create a listing?
Log in, click “Post Listing” in the navigation bar, choose your category, and fill in the title, description, price, photos, and location. Review your listing for accuracy and click “Publish”. Your listing will appear in search results within minutes.
12. How many photos can I add to a listing?
You can add up to 10 photos per listing. We recommend uploading the maximum number of photos, as listings with multiple clear images from different angles receive significantly more buyer enquiries than single-photo listings.
13. Can I edit a listing after it’s been published?
Yes. Go to My Listings, find the listing you want to edit, and click “Edit”. You can update the title, description, price, photos, and other details at any time. Edits are reviewed briefly and republished within minutes.
14. Why was my listing removed?
Listings are removed if they violate our Acceptable Use Policy — this includes prohibited items, misleading descriptions, duplicate listings, or intellectual property violations. You will receive an email explaining the reason for removal. Review our Community Rules (Section 7) and contact support if you believe the removal was in error.
15. How do I mark an item as sold?
Go to My Listings, click on the active listing you have sold, and select “Mark as Sold”. This removes the listing from public search results and archives it in your transaction history. Please do this promptly after a sale to avoid receiving further buyer enquiries.
Communication & Safety
16. Is it safe to share my phone number with buyers/sellers?
No — we strongly advise against this, especially for first-time contacts. Use the OneJamat.net messaging system for all communication. Sharing your personal phone number moves the conversation off-platform, removes your dispute protection, and exposes you to potential harassment or scam attempts.
17. What should I do if someone is harassing me?
Do not engage with the harassing messages. Use the “Report Message” function to flag the conversation, then go to the user’s profile and click “Report User”. You can also block the user (see FAQ 18). Contact support@onejamat.net if the situation is severe or involves threats.
18. Can I block a user?
Yes. Go to the user’s profile page and click “Block User” from the options menu. A blocked user will no longer be able to message you, view your listings, or interact with your account. Blocking a user also does not prevent you from reporting them.
19. Why should I keep all communication on the platform?
provides a documented record for dispute resolution, it protects your personal contact information from exposure, and it allows our Trust & Safety team to review conversation history if a report is filed. Off-platform conversations forfeit these protections.
20. What are the safest places to meet for transactions?
The safest meeting locations are busy, well-lit public spaces with other people present — such as shopping mall common areas, coffee shops, grocery store parking lots, or the lobby of a bank. For high-value transactions, meeting inside a police station or bank lobby is highly recommended. Never meet at a private home.
Fraud & Security
21. I think I was scammed. What do I do?
Act immediately: (1) Stop all contact with the scammer. (2) Screenshot and save all evidence. (3) Contact support@onejamat.net with full details. (4) Contact your bank or payment provider to dispute the charge. (5) File a report with your local police or cybercrime unit. Detailed steps are in Section 9.3 of this guide.
22. How do I know if an offer is too good to be true?
Compare the listed price with similar items on OneJamat.net and the general retail market. If a price is significantly lower than all comparable items with no reasonable explanation, it is likely a scam. Be especially cautious with electronics, luxury goods, and vehicles listed at dramatic discounts.
23. Someone asked me to pay via gift card. Is this normal?
No — this is a major red flag and a known scam tactic. Legitimate sellers never request gift cards as payment. Gift card payments are untraceable and non-refundable. If anyone asks you to pay with gift cards, do not comply, report the user immediately, and do not proceed with the transaction.
24. How do I enable Two-Factor Authentication?
Go to Account Settings > Security > Two-Factor Authentication and click “Enable 2FA”. Choose between SMS verification (code sent to your phone) or an authenticator app (Google Authenticator, Microsoft Authenticator). Follow the on-screen steps to complete setup. We strongly recommend enabling 2FA immediately after registration
25. Will OneJamat.net ever ask for my password?
Absolutely not. No OneJamat.net employee, support agent, moderator, or representative will ever ask for your account password, OTP code, or full payment details. If you receive such a request from anyone claiming to be OneJamat.net staff — by any channel — it is a phishing or social engineering attempt. Report it immediately to support@onejamat.net.
Account Issues & Support
26. My account has been suspended. What do I do?
You will have received an email explaining the reason for suspension. Review the reason carefully and, if you believe the suspension was applied in error, submit an appeal within 14 days to appeals@onejamat.net with your account details and a clear explanation. Appeals are reviewed within 5–7 business days. If you accept the violation, correct the behavior and await reinstatement per the timeline communicated in the suspension notice.
27. How long does it take for support to respond?
Standard support queries are typically responded to within 24–48 hours during business hours (Monday–Friday). Urgent reports involving scams, account security, or safety threats are prioritized and typically receive a response within 4 hours. Ensure your ticket includes all relevant information to avoid delays.
28. How do I report a fake listing?
Open the suspicious listing, click the flag icon (⚑) labeled “Report Listing,” select “Scam” or “Misleading Description” as the reason, add any supporting notes, and submit. Our Trust & Safety team will review the report and take action within 24 hours.
29. Can I delete my account permanently?
Yes. Go to Account Settings > Account > Delete Account. You will be asked to confirm your identity and acknowledge that the deletion is permanent and irreversible. Your account will be scheduled for deletion within 30 days. Alternatively, email privacy@onejamat.net to submit a deletion request directly.
30. How do I leave a review for a buyer or seller?
After a transaction is completed, go to My Account > Transaction History, find the relevant transaction, and click “Leave a Review.” Select a star rating (1–5) and write your review based on your actual experience with the item and the other party. Reviews can be submitted within 30 days of the completed transaction.
