OneJamat.net is committed to fair, transparent, and timely resolution of all refund requests. This Refund Policy governs all transactions conducted through the OneJamat.net platform and applies to all buyers and sellers. By using OneJamat.net, you agree to the terms of this Refund Policy.
1. Overview
OneJamat.net operates as a marketplace platform that connects buyers and sellers within the Ismaili community. While OneJamat.net facilitates transactions, it is not itself the seller of goods or services listed by third-party community members. Refund eligibility and obligations may differ depending on whether a transaction involves platform-sold items or third-party seller listings.
2. Buyer Protections & Refund Eligibility
2.1 Eligible Refund Situations
Buyers may be entitled to a full or partial refund in the following circumstances:
- Item Not Received (INR): The purchased item was not delivered within the agreed-upon or stated timeframe, and the seller cannot provide proof of shipment or delivery.
- Significantly Not as Described (SNAD): The item received is materially different from the listing description, photographs, or specifications (e.g., wrong item, different condition, major undisclosed defect).
- Counterfeit or Prohibited Items: The item received is counterfeit, fraudulent, or falls within the list of prohibited items under OneJamat.net’s Community Guidelines.
- Duplicate Charges: The buyer was charged more than once for the same transaction due to a platform or payment processing error.
- Event Cancellation: A purchased event ticket is for an event that has been cancelled by the organizer, and no rescheduled date has been confirmed within 30 days.
2.2 Non-Eligible Refund Situations
Refunds will generally not be granted in the following circumstances:
- The buyer changed their mind after completing the purchase (“buyer’s remorse”), unless the seller explicitly offers a change-of-mind return policy.
- The item was described accurately but did not meet the buyer’s personal expectations or preferences.
- The buyer ordered the incorrect item, quantity, or variant.
- Damage caused by the buyer after receipt of the item.
- Digital downloads or services that have already been accessed, used, or delivered.
- Custom or personalized items that were made to the buyer’s specifications.
- Perishable goods (e.g., food items) once delivered in satisfactory condition.
- Items purchased through direct off-platform transactions (outside of the OneJamat.net checkout system). OneJamat.net cannot facilitate refunds for off-platform transactions.
3. Refund Request Timelines

Requests submitted outside these windows may be declined at OneJamat.net’s discretion.
4. How to Submit a Refund Request
Step 1 — Contact the Seller First
Before opening a formal dispute, buyers are strongly encouraged to contact the seller directly through the OneJamat.net messaging system. Many issues can be resolved quickly and amicably between the parties. Allow the seller a reasonable response window of 72 hours (3 business days).
Step 2 — Open a Dispute with OneJamat.net
If the seller does not respond or the matter cannot be resolved directly, the buyer may open a formal dispute through:
- The “My Orders” section of their OneJamat.net account
- Emailing [email protected]
with the subject line: REFUND REQUEST – [Order Number]
Step 3 — Submit Supporting Documentation
Buyers should provide clear documentation to support their claim, including:
- Order number and transaction date
- Description of the issue with supporting photographs or screenshots
- Communication history with the seller
- Any tracking or delivery information
Step 4 — Review & Resolution
OneJamat.net will review the dispute and notify both parties of its preliminary determination within 5–7 business days. Additional information may be requested. A final determination will be issued within 14 business days of the dispute being opened.
5. Seller Responsibilities
All sellers on OneJamat.net are obligated to:
- List items accurately and honestly, with clear descriptions, photographs, and condition disclosures.
- Ship items within the handling time stated in the listing or within 3 business days if no handling time is specified.
- Provide valid tracking information where applicable.
- Respond to buyer messages within 72 hours.
- Honor any return or refund policy stated in their listing.
- Cooperate fully with OneJamat.net’s dispute resolution process, including providing proof of shipment, delivery, or service completion.
- Issue approved refunds within 5 business days of determination.
Sellers who fail to meet these obligations may have their accounts suspended, selling privileges revoked, or may be required to fund refunds from their seller balance.
6. Dispute Resolution
6.1 Informal Resolution
OneJamat.net strongly encourages all parties to resolve disputes directly and amicably. Our platform’s messaging system is designed to facilitate open communication.
6.2 Mediation by OneJamat.net
If direct resolution fails, OneJamat.net will act as a neutral mediator. Our Trust & Safety team will review all evidence presented by both parties and issue a binding determination based on the facts of the case and the standards of this Refund Policy.
6.3 Escalation & Appeals
Either party may request an appeal of the initial determination within 7 business days by submitting new evidence not previously considered. OneJamat.net’s senior review team will assess the appeal, and their decision will be final and binding.
6.4 Chargebacks
OneJamat.net strongly encourages buyers to use the platform’s dispute resolution process before initiating a chargeback with their bank or card issuer. Chargebacks initiated without first engaging the dispute process may result in temporary account restrictions while the chargeback is investigated. Buyers who engage in excessive or fraudulent chargebacks may have their accounts permanently suspended.
7. Refund Methods & Processing Times
Approved refunds will be issued using the original payment method where technically possible. Processing times are as follows:

OneJamat.net is not responsible for delays caused by financial institutions or third-party payment processors.
8. Prohibited Seller Practices
The following seller behaviors are strictly prohibited and may result in immediate account suspension and forfeiture of all pending funds:
- Misrepresenting the condition, authenticity, or description of any item or service
- Failing to ship an item after receiving payment
- Providing false tracking information
- Retaliating against buyers who submit legitimate refund requests or reviews
- Manipulating reviews or feedback
- Operating multiple accounts to circumvent suspensions or bans
- Engaging in fee avoidance by soliciting buyers to transact off-platform
9. Prohibited Listings
The following items and services may not be listed or sold on OneJamat.net under any circumstances:
- Alcohol, tobacco, narcotics, or controlled substances
- Weapons, firearms, ammunition, or related accessories
- Counterfeit, pirated, or stolen goods
- Adult or sexually explicit content
- Items that promote hatred, discrimination, or violence
- Gambling services or lottery tickets
- Endangered species or wildlife products
- Personal data, identity documents, or unauthorized financial instruments
- Any item or service that violates applicable local, national, or international law
10. Limitation of Liability
OneJamat.net acts as an intermediary marketplace and is not liable for:
- The quality, safety, legality, or accuracy of any listing
- The ability of sellers to complete a sale or deliver goods or services
- Losses arising from transactions conducted outside of the OneJamat.net platform
- Indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages arising from any dispute or transaction
OneJamat.net’s total liability in connection with any individual transaction shall not exceed the total transaction value of that specific transaction.
11. Policy Updates
OneJamat.net reserves the right to update this Refund Policy at any time. Significant changes will be communicated via email or platform notice. Continued use of the platform following such notice constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
